Statue of Unity is a
statue of Indian statesman and founding father, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the
state of Gujarat, India. It is the world's tallest statue with a height of 182
metres
THE IRON
MAN IS OUR SARDAR
The one who
won over British leaders in the Satyagrah of Kheda and Bardoli, Sardar
Vallabhbhai Patel was the Bismarck of Modern India, who led the welfare of
farmers. He is renowned as the architect of independent India, as he united all
diverse 562 princely states to build one great Republic of India. Shri Narendra
Modi decided to pay honorable tribute which will be cherished for centuries by
the whole world and it will become a matter of pride for every Indian for this
great man. Built in less than five years, it is the world’s tallest, grandest
and giant statue. It is a tribute to the man who united India, Sardar Patel.
SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL
The freedom struggle one can see the force of
his iron will power in his passionate pursuit of law as a career. Gifted with
an ingenious mind, Sardar always wanted to become a barrister. However, in
those days, to realize this dream, one had to go to England. Having been born
to a common farmer's family, he had no financial means to join a college even
in India, let alone travel to England Indian Independence 565 princely states, some of which were ruled by Maharajas and others by Nawabs,started believing they would become independent rulers of their kingdoms as in the pre-British era.They argued that the government of free India should treat them as equals. Construction
The project to commemorate Sardar Vallabhai Patel on 7 October 2010 at a press conference to mark the beginning of his 10th year as the Chief Minister of Gujarat
A special purpose vehicle named the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust was constituted by the Gujarat government for executing the project Statue of Unity Movement organised a Suraaj petition which was signed by an estimated 20 million people,
which was the world's largest petition statues of Patel across the country, a team of historians, artists, and academics chose to proceed with a design submitted by the Indian sculptor.
About
of statue & Features
The concrete towers which form the statue's legs contain two elevators each. Each lift can carry 26 people at a time to the viewing gallery in just over 30 seconds

The gallery is
located at a height of 153 metres (502 ft) and can hold up to 200 people

To alternate
means of transport to improve accessibility to the monument. An amphibian bus
from Kevadiya is planned as is a jetty service from the site of the Sardar
Sarovar dam

The statue is
divided into five zones of which only three are accessible to the public. From
its base to the level of Patel's shins is the first zone which has three levels
and includes an exhibition area, mezzanine and roof
